There is no shortage of IP update software in the world. Here is some software that is known to work well with yi:
ez-ipupdate by Angus Mackay.
ez-ipupdate.yi.conf - Here is a sample configuration file for ez-ipupdate. ez-ipupdate has a bug in it's gnudip2 handler right now that chops the first part of your hostname off (so when you try to update "bob.yi.org", it tells yi that you're trying to update "yi.org" itself.) Until the bug is fixed, just put a "." in front of your hostname in the cofiguration file to get around it.
This client can run as a daemon, fully supports GnuDIP2, and is part of the Debian distribtion. To install under Debian GNU/Linux, just type "apt-get install ez-ipupdate" as root and answer the questions. For other UNIXes, check your distribution or go to freshmeat's ez-ipupdate page to download the source. (ez-ipupdate-3.0.11b8.tar.gz is mirrored here as well.)
DynSite For Windows by Noël Danjou.
DynSite is a beautiful Shareware IP update client for Windows which supports a variety of update types and services, including GnuDIP2 and the old ml.org update protocol. It can run as a Windows service or as an icon in the system tray. The latest version of DynSite is available from http://www.neold.com/dldynsite.htm. (Version 1.11 has been mirrored here.)
